Flying Colours Fiction
The fiction books in Flying Colours include high-interest stories with strong storylines. Recurring characters appear throughout the series and children are able to identify these characters instantly. Humorous stories have also been included to help stimulate children’s joy in reading.
Flying Colours Non-fiction
Flying Colours Non-fiction incorporates accurate, well-researched information that is thematically linked to key learning areas. A range of text types are presented in each level to ensure that children from an early age are exposed to the different ways texts can be written.
The Flying Colours Benchmark Kit includes 20 Benchmark Books, a prepared Reading Record for each text and an Assessment Record Pro Forma. The books have been carefully written, levelled and designed for the assessment of students' progress and achievements at the end of each Flying Colours level. Flying Colours Teachers' Resources
The Flying Colours Teachers’ Guides are based on small group teaching, and also cater for whole class, guided and independent literacy learning. Four activity sheets for each Flying Colours book are included in the Teachers’ Guides. They cover reading, writing, technology and assessment.
